AMPCO today filed a motion with the Ontario Energy Board for review and rehearing of the Board’s recent decision setting rates for the Oshawa PUC, specifically the portion of the decision that allows Oshawa PUC to substantially over-charge large users so it can continue to subsidize small users. The principal beneficiary of this subsidy is the Oshawa PUC shareholder—the City of Oshawa—which pays less than half the cost of the distribution services it receives for street-lighting. The Oshawa motion is available here.
AMPCO also brought a motion to the Board requesting that the Board combine its review of the Oshawa PUC case with the revenue to cost ratios portion of the hearing respecting distribution rates proposed by Hydro One Distribution. The Hydro One motion is available here.
