OPG Contingency Support Agreement
An agreement with OEFC provides financial support to cover costs at OPG's Nanticoke and Lambton Generating Stations. OPG reports the deal generated Q1 revenue of $39 million, Q2 revenue of $140 million, on average just over $30 for each MWh of production by these plants for the first half of 2009.

Negative Energy Prices in Ontario
The Hourly Ontario Energy Price was unusually low in March 2009, including 50 hours in the last week of March in which prices were negative. Low prices (and potentially negative off-peak prices) are expected to continue until April 17th.

McGuinty Government Sets Greenhouse Gas Targets

An energy policy for Europe: Commission steps up to the energy challenges of the 21st Century
The world today is facing energy and environmental challenge, a challenge that is acute for Europe, and a challenge which is shared by all Member States. This is: how to secure competitive and clean energy for Europe against a backdrop of climate change, escalating global energy demand and future supply uncertainties. If one Member State fails to meet this challenge, other Member States will be affected. If problems arise outside the European Union, they can have an impact on the whole of the EU. This is why Europe needs a strong energy policy. The European Commission' Strategic Energy Review is an important step towards an effective energy policy for Europe.

ELCON paper faults organized markets, calls for
ELCON (the Electricity Consumers Resource Council) today released a paper reaffirming its commitment to truly competitive electricity markets but emphasizing that today’s organized markets are not competitive and concluding that “if today’s organized markets cannot be fixed…a return to traditional regulation” should be explored. The paper primarily focuses on NY-ISO, ISO-NE and PJM.

Hydro One Appoints President and CEO

Toronto, November 23, 2007 — Rita Burak, Chair of the Board of Directors of Hydro One Inc. announced today the appointment of Laura Formusa to the position of President and CEO, Hydro One Inc.

Ms. Formusa was appointed acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro One Inc. on December 8, 2006. Prior to holding this position, she held the position of General Counsel and Secretary for Hydro One Inc., having been appointed in 2003. She joined Ontario Hydro in 1980, following her call to the Bar of Ontario. Ms. Formusa has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2003 and has previously served as Secretary to the Board of Directors. She held various senior positions until being appointed General Counsel of Hydro One Networks Inc. in 2000. Ms. Formusa earned her Bachelor of Laws degree at Osgoode Hall Law School and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1980.

"As Hydro One enters one of its most significant building phases in more than twenty years, Laura's legal and regulatory background, combined with her knowledge of our business makes her the right choice," said Rita Burak, Chair of the Board of Directors. "In addition to her experience, Laura has proven herself to be an adept leader, a consensus builder and one of Hydro One's most dedicated employees."
