The 3^rd Generation IRM Stakeholder Consultation Conference

Please be advised that the stakeholder consultation conference referred to in the materials sent to you on August 2, 2007 will take place on September 13, 2007.  This half-day conference will be held in the Board’s West Hearing Room (25^th floor, 2300 Yonge Street, Toronto) and will start at 1 p.m.

The objective of the conference is to provide participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas on the issues and questions raised in the Board staff Scoping Paper with other participants and thereby help participants to prepare their written comments.

Staff will make a brief presentation on its Scoping Paper and participants will have the opportunity to discuss key points and share ideas.

Background

On August 2, 2007, the Board initiated a consultative process on the development of the principles and methodology for the third generation incentive regulation mechanism (3^rd Generation IRM) for electricity distributors with the posting on its website of a Board staff Scoping Paper. The Scoping Paper proposes a general approach and the key issues for the consultation. The cover letter addresses the issues of participation, submissions and cost awards.

Comments on the Scoping Paper are due by September 21, 2007.
